Meet Our Staff & Faculty

Our dedicated staff and faculty bring a wealth of experience, passion, and professionalism to our ultrasound program. With backgrounds in diagnostic medical sonography, healthcare education, and clinical practice, our team is committed to providing students with a supportive learning environment rooted in excellence. From classroom instruction to hands-on training, each faculty member plays a vital role in preparing future sonographers for success. We take pride in cultivating not only technical skill, but also confidence, compassion, and a deep commitment to patient care.

David Girod BS, RDCS, RVT

Lead Vascular Instructor

David is a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) with 17 years of experience in the clinical, educational, and management aspects of sonography. He has held various leadership positions, including Technical Director, Clinical Instructor, and Vice President of Operations. Additionally, he has served on the advisory boards of three different sonography schools in Maryland and Florida.

David has collaborated with esteemed physicians at Johns Hopkins, University of Maryland, Cleveland Clinic, and Mayo Clinic. He is passionate about both high-quality ultrasound and education in the field of cardiovascular sonography.

As a Maryland resident since 2010 and a Frederick resident since 2022, David is acutely aware of the demand and shortage of well-trained sonographers in the Frederick and surrounding areas. He is committed to fostering scholastic excellence to address this shortage. David is also the owner of Girouard Staffing, which specializes in cardiovascular sonographer staffing and mobile ultrasound services, as well as co-owner of Advanced Wellness Imaging, a company focused on preventative ultrasound screenings.

Jessica Grigsby BS, RDMS, RDCS 

Lead General Instructor & General Lab Coordinator

Jessica Grigsby is a highly experienced and compassionate diagnostic medical sonographer with over a decade of specialized expertise in obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound, as well as fetal echocardiogram. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication from East Carolina University. Throughout her career, Jessica has worked alongside some of the most respected perinatologists and pediatric cardiologists in the region, and has been instrumental in establishing Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) programs in several prestigious hospitals across the tristate area.

In addition to leading our ultrasound program, Jessica is also the proud owner and founder of First Sight Frederick, a premier elective 3D/4D ultrasound studio. She also serves as co-owner of Advanced Wellness Imaging, a company specializing in preventative ultrasound screenings.

Her passion for combining clinical excellence with patient-centered care has made her a trusted name in women’s imaging. Through education and mentorship, Jessica is committed to creating a learning environment that not only builds technical skill but also emphasizes empathy, professionalism, and excellence in women’s imaging.

Brandon Jackson BS, RVT

Vascular Lab Coordinator

Brandon is a vascular sonographer with four years of experience, having worked in a variety of settings, including the University of Maryland Baltimore, outpatient clinics, and vascular procedural environments. Throughout his career, he has gained valuable hands-on experience working with diverse patient populations across the state of Maryland.

Passionate about establishing a quality sonography program in Frederick, Brandon recognizes the challenges of traveling long distances for education and training. As Frederick continues to grow, so does the need for skilled and competent sonographers in the area. He believes this school will provide aspiring sonographers with the opportunity to learn, train, and thrive locally, and he is excited to contribute to that journey as an instructor.

Monique Madero 

Cardiovascular Lab Instructor

Monique is the Lab Coordinator. She is currently working as a Cardiovascular Sonographer and has been for over 15 years. After attending Eastwick College in Northern New Jersey, Monique traveled the boroughs of NYC training under direction of some brilliant minds. Her specialty is cardiac but was crossed trained in vascular and general. She has been in the healthcare industry for 30 years. Monique enjoys helping patients and helping them understand the importance of their healthcare. She is passionate about educating the future generations of dedicated sonographers, through an interactive hands-on approach.

Minks Koroma MSRC, MSJ, RDCS, RDMS, RVT

Lead Cardiac Instructor

Minks is a dedicated leader with a wealth of experience in supervision, administration, student coordination, and education. Minks is ARDMS registered in Cardiac, Abdomen, OB-GYN, and Vascular Ultrasound. He brings 9 years of ultrasound experience, complemented by 5 years of management experience in safety and compliance. Additionally, he has spent 4 years as a Lead Instructor in Cardiac and Vascular Ultrasound, mentoring and guiding students toward excellence.

At the Frederick School of Sonography, Minks works to create a supportive, structured, and enriching learning environment, ensuring that every student feels heard and well-prepared to

excel in the field. With a strong investment in the Frederick community, Minks is committed to mentoring the next generation of highly skilled and compliant sonographers, equipping them

with the tools they need to thrive within their chosen specialties. Minks is committed to ensuring that every student he teaches graduate with the expertise, confidence, and agency

needed to elevate to succeed in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) field.
